Fork Lift Hire Tips

When beginning a business it is very important to keep the cash flowing through the company so you can carry on from month to month, which is why many business people decide to hire equipment instead of buying them outright. This is also true for fork lift trucks, for distribution companies and in retail fork lift trucks are exceptionally important cogs to the wheel but if the initial outlay of money isn’t available to buy a new fork lift then hiring one is a great solution. Here are a few tips to take into consideration when choosing a fork truck hire company.

Research and gather information – go online and make some calls so that you can get together all the information that you need to make your final decision of which forklift hire company you will be using. You can also visit local suppliers to gain a better feeling of the company to see if you can work with them.

Find a reputable forktruck hire company – when choosing which company to go with for your fork lift hire do not just go with the cheapest quote. Read more about the company and their reputation and the level of service that they can offer you. Find out what type of warranty they offer, what happens if the fork lift breaks down, do they charge a call out fee and so on.

Hire the right fork lift truck for the job at hand – it may sound obvious but it is something that is often forgotten about that when you hire a fork lift truck make sure it is suitable for the job at hand.  Before you sign the agreement check with the sales representative all your requirements for the fork lift such as maximum weight, make, model etc and check that the fork lift you are about to hire matches your needs. You do not want to waste your money hiring a forklift that you can’t use on site.
