Regardless of your business, if you have parts or equipment that needs to be moved, a fork truck is essential. When you have things to move that two or three people can not manage on their own, or that needs to be lifted, this piece of machinery is essential.
Since the 1920s factories have been using lifts to save time and and ensure their manpower is used more efficiently. Having a load capability of one to five tons, moving heavy pallets across the building, from building to building, or from the ceiling to the floor, the workload is more evenly distributed.
A lift is a factories equivalent of a heavy duty vehicle. The driver sits safe inside the cab, with a dashboard displaying readouts, and all of the pedals, levers and controls. With an overhead guard the driver is also protected from spills from above.
The tines are capable of being moved for different needs. They will tilt forward, backward, or they can be raised and lowered. They are also capable of side ward movement, and can be manually spread out or moved in for wider or smaller pallets.
Fork truck lifts are either hand operated, battery operated or run on LP gas. The electric types can be either AC or DC, with fuel cells or a battery. The gas tank will be located behind the drivers seat with different options on the type of gas used. They start up with a key, so unauthorized people do not have access to them.
Depending on your needs you can select a fork truck from the smaller sized equipment, such as the pallet jack, up to much larger pieces, like the order pickers. Larger factories might have a combination, needing different sizes for different areas in the building.
If your business moves lots of pallets, heavy machinery, or almost anything that is large or awkward, having a lift of one type or another is almost essential.
