Some fork trucks can not be used indoors because of the fumes and harmful emissions they give off, this is fine outdoors because it is in an open space but indoors this can become dangerous for anyone in the room where the forklift is being used. Indoor fork trucks are usually electric and so do not give off any gases, and they are much quieter and so cause no noise pollution. Once you have determined where your forklift will be used this will give you a good starting point to which truck you need.
Another factor you need to think about is the capacity of weight the forklift will be required to lift and maneuver. Fork trucks all come with a maximum weight that they are allowed to lift, going over these maximum weights can cause damage to the machine and can cause it to tip over causing accidents and injury. Be sure that the
forklift you are purchasing has a maximum weight that fits in with your loads. Other factors to consider involve tyres, engine type, power options, fork features and so on. Conduct a little research online and by calling a few companies first before you commit to buying.
