Propane Fork Lift

Propane Fork Lift

There are a couple of different options of fuel when it comes to fork lift trucks one of them being propane. A fork lift truck which runs off propane has many advantages attached to it such as the propane gas does not give off as many emissions as a petrol or diesel engine. Due to the propane fork lift giving off fewer emissions they can be used for indoor use as well as electric but electric is usually preferred due to no emissions and lower noise pollution. The tank for propane gas on a fork lift can be changed over and so can work out to be quite cost effective. The gas is stored in tanks under pressure that can be refilled. The cylinder of the propane gas is to be refilled offsite for safety regulations but the empty tank can be taken out onsite.

The propane gas fork lift can be very dangerous and so extra precautions need to be taken. Before usage the propane cylinders are sealed and manufactured according to the rules and legalities for safety. The advantage of propane fork lift trucks is that the cylinders of the gas can be refueled very quickly compared to other types of fueled fork lifts. The fork lift can work up to eight hours on a full tank of propane, which is plenty for a full working day and can easily be changed over for the next working day. This is a lot better than say the electric fork lift which is first cooled and then refilled taking several hours. One aspect of propane fork lift trucks is where to store the gas; it must be a secure location within a cabinet and the cabinet must be protected from any type of open flame. The gas is highly flammable and must be handled under strict national code specialization. If the proper precautions are taken the propane fork lift truck is a great option to go for your forklift needs.
